The state election commission on Tuesday announced that local body elections will be held in March, covering 42 municipalities and over 900 gram panchayats.
Party workers have already begun door-to-door campaigns in several districts, with civic issues like water supply, road repair, and waste management expected to dominate the discourse. Independent candidates are also expected to play a bigger role this cycle, particularly in wards where sitting representatives have faced criticism over unfinished projects.
