Assembly Session Erupts Over Farm Loan Waiver Demand

The state assembly witnessed heated exchanges on Monday as opposition members staged a walkout over the government's refusal to announce a blanket farm loan waiver.

Raising slogans in the well of the house, legislators from farming constituencies said thousands of families were facing distress after a weak monsoon last year. The agriculture minister countered that a targeted relief package was already under preparation and would be tabled before the end of the session.
